      Microsoft Windows 8 Skype Metro App: Clear History did not clear the conversation history in Chat box


      Using the Clear History feature in Skype cannot clear the conversation history in the Chat box.

      Follow the steps below:

      1. Launch the Skype Metro App on Microsoft Windows 8.  Type the MSN and Skype account as required.
      2. Open the Chat window with the previously saved conversation history.
      3. Go to the Charms bar and then click the "Setting" button.
      4. Click the "Option" button located in the upper-right panel.
      5. Click the "Clear History" button.
      6. Conversations in the "Recent" panel will be cleared.
      7. The previously saved conversations in the Chat box will not be cleared.

      The above symptom is associated with, but not limited to, the following systems:

      • ThinkCentre
      • ThinkStation
      • ThinkServer
      • ThinkPad
      • Idea Tablet
      • IdeaPad
      • IdeaCentre

      Affected Systems (machine types, model types):

      • All systems shipped with Skype

      Additional Information:

      • This is a Skype design.

      After rebooting the system, the Chat history will be cleared.
