Digital Download of Windows 10 Pro recovery key for non - downgrade THINK systems
What is a non-downgrade THINK system? All Lenovo THINK products which were not shipped with Windows 10 are considered to be non-downgrade THINK systems. Any THINK product which was pre-installed with Windows 7 Pro operation system with upgrade rights to Windows 8.1 or Windows 10 license will be categorized as downgrade systems and should not be using this website. If your system is a downgrade system please use https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/lenovorecovery to order either a recovery media or perform digital download.
What is a Digital Download? Lenovo will either ship a recovery key to the customer or customers can download the necessary recovery files from Lenovo and create their own recovery key. This website only enables the customer to perform a digital download. If you would prefer to order a USB recovery key shipment for your non-downgrade system please call your local Lenovo support center.
When ordering your recovery media (Windows 10 Pro), the Windows Recovery Media for Non-Downgraded Systems Program has the following steps:
1.Determine Eligibility and submit recovery media order (A Lenovo ID is required to order recovery media).
2.Order confirmation that order was accepted.
3.Email confirmation with order information (Allow 2-3 business days for this email).
4.Tracking information email.
Am I entitled to a copy of Windows 10 Pro Digital Download?
Yes. All Lenovo customers who own a THINK system where the system was shipped with Windows 10 Pro are eligible to perform a onetime digital download and create their own USB recovery key. Once you have placed an order you will not be eligible to re-order again.
Will I get technical help to download and create the recovery key?
Yes. Lenovo Digital Download system is designed to walk our customers through the entire process of downloading and creating the key. Once you start the process appropriate documentations will be provided to you which will help you complete this process successfully. Please read all the documentation carefully and follow the outlined process.
What should I do if I run into issues and need help?
If at any point if you run into issues, you can create a trouble ticket with our support team. As you move along the process you will see links which articulates your potential problem and by clicking this link you can create a trouble ticket with our support team. Alternatively, you can also send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org to create the trouble ticket.
Please provide as much information as possible when you create the trouble ticket. Artifacts like screen shots of the errors, documentation on exact steps taken so far, any log files that may be present in your system will be very useful in troubleshooting your issue in a timely manner.
Please note that once you create a trouble ticket, our level - 0 support team will collect as much information as possible from you and if cannot be resolved by level - 0 support, appropriate technical teams will be engaged for further trouble shooting.
