ThinkPad Wireless Display Adapter - Overview and Service Parts



Important: Ensure that your computer is installed with the latest Graphic Processing Unit (GPU) driver and Wi-Fi driver by running the ThinkVantage System Update program. Otherwise, manually update both drivers from the Lenovo Support Web site at: http://www.lenovo.com/support

For Windows 7:

Ensure that your computer has one of the following programs:
  • Intel Wireless Display (Intel WIDI) version 4.2.29 or later
  • Lenovo QuickDisplay 

Note: Depending on your computer model, Lenovo QuickDisplay might require Intel WIDI installed.

To download or update Intel WIDI and Lenovo QuickDisplay, go to: http://www.lenovo.com/support.
. Type your product name in the Product Name field. Under the Downloads tab, search with the program name. Contact your IT support if you cannot find the programs. 

To use your wireless display adapter, do the following:

1. Start Intel WIDI or Lenovo QuickDisplay.
2. In the Intel WIDI window or Lenovo QuickDisplay window, search and identify the wireless display adapter with the device name displayed on the monitor. 
3. When prompted, enter the Personal Identification Number (PIN) displayed on the monitor or press the Mode/WPS button on the left side of the wireless display adapter. The connection is established and your notebook computer screen is displayed on the monitor. 

For Windows 8.1:

To use your wireless display adapter, do the following:

1. Move the pointer to the top-right or bottom-right corner of the screen to display the charms.
2. Click Devices ➙ Project ➙ Add a wireless display to search and identify the wireless display adapter with the device name displayed on the monitor.
3. When prompted, enter the PIN displayed on the monitor or press the Mode/WPS button on the left side of the wireless display adapter. The connection is established and your notebook computer screen is displayed on the monitor.

Moreover, you will no longer need to bring other video conversion cables/adapters as well as long video cables to the conference room. This adapter will amplify and transform your conference experience as well as enhance your entertainment experience. ThinkPad Wireless Display Adapter enhances user experience, security, and manageability for commercial customers, which is qualified with Intel WiDi Gen4 enterprise adapter certification.

The ThinkPad Wireless Display Adapter (0C52866) features include:

To enable the remote management function, the ThinkPad Wireless Display Adapter should be connected to the Internet/Intranet. This adapter supports various network encryption protocols, such as: WPA/WPA2/WEP. However, 802.1x authentication is not supported at this moment. For users under 802.1x authentication network environment, please use MAC Authentication Bypass (MAB) to connect to the network.
