Tips for ThinkPad OneLink Dock (4X10A06077)

ThinkPad OneLink Dock does not support boot from Ethernet
Symptom

Insert Ethernet cable into dock Ethernet connector, then press power button of system or dock to boot up. Press F12 to select bootable device or LAN, found there is no dock Ethernet bootable device in the boot up list.

Affected configurations

The above symptom is associated with, but not limited to, the following systems:

  • All systems with OneLink dock attached
Solution

No solution.

Additional Information

The reason is the system with dock attached do not support boot from external USB LAN feature.

 

There may be Blue screen displayed when system is entering sleep
Symptom

Attach ThinkPad OneLink Dock to notebook, and make notebook to enter sleep. During the entering, there may be around 20% rate to encounter blue screen, with its code with 0x0000010D.

Affected configurations

The above symptom is associated with, but not limited to, the following systems:

  • Win7 64bit systems with ThinkPad OneLink dock Giga Ethernet driver is 1.14.6.0
Solution

1) Download latest USB ethernet driver from Lenovo website.
2) Change the ThinkPad OneLink dock Giga LAN driver option setting in Windows Update from "optional" to "Must”.

Additional Information

Issue caused by ThinkPad OneLink dock Giga LAN driver 1.14.6.0, the driver version from 1.14.7.0 has been fixed.

To know what the version of the driver is, right click My computer --> Manage --> Device Manager. From the devices list, find ThinkPad OneLink Dock Giga LAN device and right click to get prompted window and select Property, in the Driver tab to get the version of the current driver.



ThinkPad OneLink Dock Ethernet and Audio driver could not be uninstalled from windows Program and Features page
Symptom

Click Start --> Control Panel --> Uninstall Program to go to Program and Features page. There is no dock related drivers (ThinkPad OneLink USB Audio and USB Giga Ethernet drivers) listed in this page. Users can not uninstall driver from it.

Affected configurations

The above symptom is associated with, but not limited to, the following systems:

  • All systems with ThinkPad OneLink dock driver pre-loaded into OS
Solution

Go to My computer --> Manage --> Device management page, find out the right device (ThinkPad OneLink USB Audio or ThinkPad OneLink USB Giga Ethernet) and right click, select Uninstall in the right click list to uninstall related driver.
