Keyboard, mouse and Dongle ID paring procedure

STATEMENT DESCRIPTION:

Keyboard, mouse and Dongle ID paring procedure

AFFECTED CONFIGURATIONS:

The above symptom may occur on the following systems:

All Idea Desktops

All Idea Laptops

VALID REGIONS/COUNTRIES:

Worldwide

SOLUTION:

Mouse and Dongle Paring:

Auxiliary tools: PC, two AA cells

Pairing steps:

1. Insert receiver into PC. Be sure that the receiver is recognized by PC and the distance between mouse and the receiver is within 20cm.

2. Press down Mouse right button and left button at the same time. After power-on the mouse orange LED will be on for 6s and then off. Next, if Mouse green LED flashes one time, it means paring is finished. If Mouse red LED flashes one time, it means that paring fails and it needs to re-pair following above steps.

Paring success/failure judgment methods:

Paring succeeds: When moves mouse, press mouse button or scroll mouse wheel, the mouse could send correct commands to PC.

Paring fails: When the mouse doesn’t work, restart mouse power and re-pair according to pairing steps. If the mouse still cannot work or cannot send correct commands to PC, the pairing fails.

Note:

If paring fails, re-paring could continue. However, the re-pairing should be less than 400 times. Otherwise, only the last ID could be remembered according to IC rule.

Keyboard and Dongle Paring:

Auxiliary tools: PC with Windows XP or Windows 7, two AAA cells

Pairing steps:

1. Insert Dongle into PC. Be sure that the Dongle is recognized by PC and the distance between mouse and the Dongle is within 10cm.

2. Press down F2, F3 and F4 at the same time, install cells, release F2, F3 and F4 and then Press “3” to begin pairing. After finishing pairing, press “Windows” key to check whether the pairing is successful. If “Windows” key works, it means that the pairing is successful; otherwise, the pairing fails.

Paring success/failure judgment methods:

Paring succeeds: press any key on the keyboard and correct commands can be sent to PC by keys.

Paring fails: When the keyboard doesn’t work, restart mouse power and re-pair according to pairing steps. If the keyboard still cannot work or cannot send correct commands to PC, the pairing fails.

Note:

If paring fails, re-paring could continue. However, the re-pairing should be less than 400 times. Otherwise, only the last ID could be remembered according to IC rule.
