How to correctly install Internet Explorer 8 on Windows XP SP3

SOLUTION:

In order to correctly install IE 8, the user needs to go to "Start" à "All programs" à "Windows Update".

Internet Explorer will open and launch a webpage with Windows updates (update. microsoft.com/windowsupdate).

On this website user should choose "Fast update" and press "Download and Install Updates". If done for the first time the system will show "Windows Genuine Advantage" that the user will have to install and pass the genuine test. After that the list of updates will appear will all add-ons possible. One of them should be Internet Explorer 8. Download the application and follow the on-display instructions for proper installation.
