Symptom
tp4track.sys may cause a stop error message to appear or may cause Microsoft Windows XP and Windows Vista to stop responding with an error message on a blue screen and the system may restart after the error message.

Affected configurations

Any of the following Lenovo systems running Microsoft Windows XP and Windows Vista with a TrackPoint Driver version 4.63 or earlier may be affected by this symptom:

  • ThinkPad R50e, R51e, R60e, R61e, R61i (7650)
  • ThinkPad T41, T41p, T42, T42p, T43, T43p
  • ThinkPad X31, X32, X40, X41, X41 Tablet, X60, X60s, X60 Tablet, X61, X61s, X61 Tablet
  • ThinkPad Z61e
Solution

Update the TrackPoint Driver to version 4.63 or later.
