Set designated search engines for Internet Explorer 9

STATEMENT DESCRIPTION:

By Microsoft IE9 manual setting, you could add and designate your favorite search providers and prevent programs from changes

 

AFFECTED CONFIGURATIONS:

The above symptom may occur on the following operating system:

Microsoft Internet Explorer 9

 

VALID REGIONS/COUNTRIES:

Worldwide

 

SOLUTION:

1. Open IE9, click on “Tool” button and then select “Manage add-ons”.

2. In “Manage Add-ons” dialogue box, click “Search Providers” and all used search engine will be listed under “Name” on the right. You can add more search providers accordingly.

3. Set default search engine

In “Manage Add-ons” dialogue box, you can select “prevent programs from suggesting changes to my default search providers” checkbox to avoid that their default search engines are changed. See Fig.3:

In addition, you can add other search engines such as job search engine, weather search engine and music search engine for IE9 by clicking “Find more search providers”.
