Dim LCD at boot and shutdown - Thinkpad T400, T500 and W500
Symptom
During Windows Vista boot and shutdown the LCD will dim to a very low level. This behavior is normal. This is a battery saving / power management feature that will extend the life of the battery.
Affected configurations
The following ThinkPad Systems running on Microsoft Windows Vista:
ThinkPad T400
ThinkPad T500
ThinkPad W500
Solution
If boot and shutdown LCD brghtness is required, then pressing FN-Home will raise the overall LCD brightness.
