No backslash on Brazilian keyboard that comes preinstalled with Microsoft Windows XP - Lenovo 3000/ ThinkCentre/ NetVista
The user may be missing the backslash key when using the preloaded version of Microsoft Windows XP with the Brazilian keyboard setup as default.
Any Lenovo 3000, ThinkCentre or NetVista system running Microsoft Windows XP with a Brazilian Preload
None. No hardware should be replaced for this issue.
The user will need to change the keyboard in Microsoft Windows XP from Portuguese (Brazilian ABNT) to United States-English by doing an "Alt+Shift" to get the backslash, or the user can change the on-screen keyboard (OSK.EXE) from 101 keyboard to 102 keyboard to get the backslash.
To launch on-screen keyboard, open a command window:
Click Start, then Run, and then type in CMD, then click OK .
At the command prompt, type in osk.exe , then press Enter.
From the pull down menu select Keyboard, then 102 keys. Then Exit.
