Firmware update for HLDS GT30N optical drive - ThinkCentre M90z, M70z, M71z, Edge 91z, Edge 71z, a70z

Symptom

Error 80004005 occurs when using Corel Burn.Now to copy disc.

  • ThinkCentre Edge 91z (type 1732, 1729, 1734, 1731, 1736, 1737, 7074, 7075, 7077, 7078, 7556, 7559)
  • ThinkCentre Edge 71z (type 7567, 5068, 7558)
  • ThinkCentre A70z (type 1165, 1184, 1186, 0401, 0994,  2565)

Solution

Update the firmware to version LD04 from the following link:

http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?DocID=DS024524

  • Go to the folder where you saved r5_ld04.exe.
  • Double-click on the r5_ld04 icon.
  • The firmware update will proceed automatically.
  • When it is complete, you will be prompted to reboot your computer.
  • The firmware update will take effect after your computer reboots.
