When extended desktop mode is set on display properties, the external display is not restored and video output will be to LCD only after a suspend/resume.

Affected configurations

Any of the following ThinkPad system running Microsoft Windows XP or Windows 2000:

ThinkPad R61 (Machine types: 7742, 7743, 7744, 7751, 7753, 7754, 7755, 8914, 8918, 8919, 8920, 8927, 8928, 8929)
ThinkPad R61i (Machine types: 7742, 8918)
ThinkPad T61, T61p

Solution

Upgrade display driver (NVIDIA Quadro NVS 140M / Quadro FX 570M) for Windows XP, 2000 to version 6.14.11.7471 or greater.
