
Finding my product number (machine type / model or part number) and serial number
The product number is used to find specific information about your product on the Support and downloads site. The product number can also be used by the Support Center to provide technical assistance for your product.
- 7 character product number (machine type and model)
- 7 or 12 character serial number
- 10 character serial number
Click your product below to view the location of your product number (machine type and model) and serial number.
Located on the front right panel or on the back of the system: 
The serial number is printed on the label on the back of the system.

It is a combination of 10-digital letters and numbers, i.e. EB12345678
The serial number is printed on both of the service tag and rear chassis label.

It is a combination of 10-digital letters and numbers, i.e. SS12345678
Note: It may take some time to gather this system's details. No personal information will be collected and the system information gathered will not be saved. This feature will only work with Microsoft Windows 98SE, Me, 2000, and XP. If you use Microsoft Windows XP, you may need to reboot the first time you use this feature. This function only works with the Internet Explorer browser.
7 character serial number
Enter your machine type and model (product number) in the Enter a product number field on the Support home page. Then, you will be taken to a page with information specifically for your product.
10 character serial number
Enter your serial number in the Input Serial Number field on the Support Center. Then, you will be taken to a page with information specifically for your product.
Warranty lookup
If you want to find out the warranty status for your system, you can enter your machine type and serial number on the Warranty page to find it.

Special navigation links
Some documents contain special links that will let you navigate directly to documents for your system. When you click these links, a dialog box will appear with fields for machine type and model. These fields will be prepopulated with the information from your system. You can change them to find information for another system.
