Symptom

The file ati2dvag.dll may cause the following error after resuming normal operation from standby mode::

Windows may stop responding with an error message on a blue screen

Affected configuration

The following ThinkPad systems with an installed older version of the Video Driver running Microsoft Windows XP may experience this error:

ThinkPad R52 (machine types 1846, 1847, 1848, 1849, 1850, 1870)
ThinkPad T43, T43p (machine types 26xx)

Solution

Update the video driver as follows:

ThinkPad R52, T43, T43p - Video driver (ATI Mobility Radeon, FireGL) to version 8.163.1.1.1-060121a-030334C or later
