Unable to enter S3/S4 Standby power state mode while Dragon Assistant application 1.5.0 is running in AC mode.

 

Symptom

The system will not go into S3/S4 Standby power state mode when Idle if Dragon Assistant application 1.5.0 is active in AC mode.

Affected Configurations

The above symptom is associated with, but not limited to, the following systems:

  • ThinkPad Classic
  • ThinkPad Tablet

Affected Systems (machine types, model types):

  • 3446, 3448, 3460, 3462, 3463, 3443, 3444, 3351, 3352, 3353, 6273, 8614
Applies to
  • Microsoft Windows 8
Solution

Users can enter Standby power state mode directly. The Standby power state works in battery mode.

Workaround

The user should perform one of the steps below:

  • Enter the system into Standby power state mode manually instead of allowing for system idle timers to activate if Dragon Assistant application is active.
  • Manually close the Dragon Assistant application before allowing the system idle timeouts to activate automatically.
  • Dictate the command to enter the Standby power state mode into the Dragon Assistant application directly.
