Y500 touchpad pointer drifts or jumps after a period of time.
Some Y500 units shipped before 2012/12/4 (label on the bottom cover) with an Elan touchpad
If you experience the above described symptoms please check the touchpad hardware.
This will show you if your system uses the ELAN hardware.
- Go to Control Panel and click on Mouse.
If you see the Elan touchpad in your system and have the above described symptoms then the system is most likely affected.
