This article is about how to deactivate Windows 8 lock screen.
All systems running Windows 8
The new Windows 8 lock screen is perfect for a unit with touch response, otherwise it can be deactivated for quicker Start menu launching. Since it is a basic component of the new Operating System, it cannot be uninstalled. However, there is a way to deactivate it easily.
1. Open the Run (Run) with the combination of the Windows key and R, type control userpasswords2 as you see in the image below and click OK. You can open the Run from the hidden menu options you'll find in the Start position.
2. Alternatively, if you are on the start screen (Start) of the Windows 8, enter the keyword netplwiz and select the appropriate option from the search.
In the window that appears, uncheck option Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer (Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer) and click Apply (Apply) to save your changes.
3. Shortly after, you will see a new window where you need to enter your username and password here in order to avoid typing the password of your account during the connection of Windows. If your account has no password, leave the fields blank.
