System may hang when installing retail Microsoft Windows XP - ThinkCentre M81, M91, M91p
Symptom

The customer is installing a retail version of Microsoft Windows XP that does not contain SP2/3 in addition, the system may hang during the install process.

Affected configurations

The above symptom is associated with, but not limited to, the following systems:

  • ThinkCentre M81, M91, M91p

Applies to:

  • Microsoft Windows XP Professional
  • Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition
Solution

None. This is a limitation and working as designed. Do not replace any hardware.
