No BSoD has been noted with this crash and other applications and aspects of Windows 7 OS will continue to work as expected. This application crash can only be seen by UNchecking the Internet Explorer 9 internet option under the advanced tab called: Use Software rendering instead of GPU rendering. This option can be found under Tools -> Internet Options then select the advanced tab. It is the first option list under Accelerated graphics. The default for this option is checked.
