IBM Rescue and Recovery™ with Rapid Restore™ - Limited user cannot logon after restoring to a hard disk drive greater than 32GB

Symptom
During a restore to a hard disk drive greater than 32GB, a FAT32 partition will be converted to NTFS. A limited user may not have been configured correctly.

Affected configurations
IBM systems supported by IBM Rescue and Recovery with Rapid Restore, running Microsoft Windows 2000 or XP, configured with IBM Rapid Restore Ultra

Solution
To reset the NTFS attributes to those specified please follow these steps:

  1. Logon as Administrator and click Start, then select Run.
  2. Type cacls c:\*.* /T /E /C /G Everyone:F, then press the Enter key.
