IBM Client Security Software - System goes to the desktop without authentication

Symptom
While bringing the system out of the hibernate state, the standby state, or a screen saver with the Client Security Software, and CSS Ensure Technologies XyLoc version 7.54a, and then selecting cancel or escape several times at the PassPhrase prompt at unlock, the system goes to the desktop without authentication.

Affected configurations
Any of the following IBM systems running Microsoft Windows XP or Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional with service pack, and configured with IBM Client Security Software (CSS), and Ensure Technologies XyLoc version 7.54a.:

  • ThinkCentre 8183, 8184, 8185, 8187, 8188, and 8189 systems
  • NetVista 2251, 2254, 2255, 2256, 2257, 2271, 2273, 2275, 2283, 6043, 6058, 6059, 6274, 6280, 6290, 6336, 6337, 6339, 6341, 6342, 6346, 6347, 6348, 6568, 6569, 6578, 6579, 6596, 6599, 6644, 6645, 6646, 6647, 6648, 6649, 6650, 6790, 6791, 6792, 6793, 6794, 6795, 6822, 6830, 6831, 6837, 6838, 6840, 6841, 6842, 6843, 6844, 6847, 6848, 6881, 8181, 8182, 8301, 8303, 8304, 8305, 8306, 8307, 8308, 8309, 8310, 8311, 8312, 8313, 8314, and 8315 systems
  • ThinkPad 1829, 1830, 1831, 1832, 1833, 1836, 1840, 1841, 2366, 2367, 2373, 2374, 2375, 2376, 2379, 2647, 2648, 2652, 2653, 2654, 2656, 2658, 2659, 2660, 2662, 2672, 2673, 2677, 2681, 2682, 2683, 2722, 2723, 2724, 2884, 2885, 2890, and 2891 systems

Solution
None. Ensure Technologies XyLoc version 7.54a is not supported with CSS. The customer must use Ensure technologies XyLoc version 7.41.
