Undocking from ThinkPad Advanced Dock with a PCI express video card causes a blank screen on LCD - Notebooks
Symptom
After docking system to a ThinkPad Advanced Dock with a PCI Express video card which video driver is not same as the video driver of internal graphics controller, attach an external monitor to the dock, and change the "Default Primary Video Device" settings from "Internal" to "PCI Express" in BIOS, the display appears on the external monitor after restart. Then undock and find that the display disappears from the external monitor, but does not appear on internal LCD, the LCD screen is blank.

Affected configurations
All notebook systems running Microsoft Windows Vista.

Solution
You must restart the system.

This is a limitation of Windows Vista.
