Introducing the PalmCheck feature of the ThinkPad UltraNav Driver - ThinkPad
Symptom
The PalmCheck feature enables the ThinkPad(R) UltraNav(R) Driver to check users’ input behaviors to prevent unintentional input from the touch pad. When one of the following input behaviors is detected, the ThinkPad UltraNav Driver will define the touch pad input as unintentional and disable the touch pad. After the detected input behavior finishes, the touch pad might still be disabled for about one second. Then, the touch pad will resume operation.
When the user touches a large area on the touch pad, the ThinkPad UltraNav Driver defines this touch behavior as the palm contact and disables the touch pad.
When the user uses the keyboard and the touch pad at the same time, the ThinkPad UltraNav Driver disables the touch pad.
When the user uses the TrackPoint and the touch pad at the same time, the ThinkPad UltraNav Driver disables the pointing and gesturing functions of the touch pad.
