Push USB optical mouse button to wake system from S1 or S3 standby state - ThinkCentre
Symptom

When using a USB mouse you need to push the mouse button in order to wake a system from S1 or S3 standby state. Since the mouse optical laser light is off in standby states, moving the mouse will not wake the system.

Affected configurations

All ThinkCentre systems running Microsoft Windows 2000 or Windows XP configured with a USB optical mouse

Solution

None. No hardware should be replaced for this issue.
