Setting the default carrier firmware when installing GOBI 2000 driver - ThinkPad
Symptom
By default, the GOBI 2000 driver installs the Verizon carrier firmware.
Affected configurations
Any of the following ThinkPad systems:
Edge 13, Edge 14, Edge 15
Edge E30, Edge E40, Edge E50
L412, L512
T410, T410i, T410s, T410si, T510, T510i
W510
X100e
X201, X201i, X201s, X201 Tablet
ThinkPad X201, X201s, X201 Tablet
Solution
The \WWANQL\Driver\SETUP.EXE for the GOBI 2000 driver allows setting the firmware when the driver is installed by using the option DEFAULTIMAGE=<directory number>.
The directories numbers are:
Vodafone Image
Verizon Image
AT&T Image
Sprint Image
T-Mobile Image
Generic UMTS Image
Telefonica Image
Telecom Italia Image
Orange Image
DoCoMo Image
So to install the driver with the default UMTS firmware would be:
C:\drivers\WWANQL\Driver\SETUP.EXE DEFAULTIMAGE=6
