Hard Disk Drive cannot be detected when installing Linux - ThinkStation D20
Symptom
The hard disk drive cannot be detected when installing the Suse Enterprise Linux® Desktop 10 Service Pack 3 operating system when it is connected to a SATA hard disk drive connector controlled by the Marvell host bus adapter (HBA).

Solution
This problem is caused by the Marvell HBA. To solve the problem, you need to remove the hard disk drive from the SATA hard disk drive connector controlled by the Marvel HBA, and then connect the hard disk drive to an available SATA optical disk drive connector controlled by the Intel(R) HBA.
To locate the SATA hard disk drive connector and the SATA optical disk drive connector on the system board, refer to the system board label inside the computer.
