Clone mode and extended mode

1. Clone mode:
   
   • View a copy of one display full-screen on another. Both monitors are displaying the same image. This is useful when one display is being viewed by an operator and another display is being viewed by an audience.

2. Extended (Independent) Mode:
   • In this multi-display mode, the operating system recognizes each display attached to the system. Each display can have its settings, for example: resolution.

Two ways to configure a ThinkPad display with two external monitors when using ATI X1300 display adapter and ThinkPad Advanced Dock:

1. Option A:
   
   • One monitor attached to the dock DVI port or dock VGA port.
   • One monitor attached to the graphics adapter.
   
   

2. Option B:
   • No monitors attached to the dock DVI port or dock VGA port.
   • Two monitors attached to the graphics adapter.

• Four displayable images (one on ThinkPad display and one on each monitor)
• Three monitors attached
  • One monitor attached to the Dock
    • One monitor attached to the dock DVI port or VGA port
  • Two monitors attached to the graphics adapter

• Four displayable images (ThinkPad display is blank and one on each monitor)
• Four monitors attached

    • One monitor attached to the dock DVI port and the other attached to the dock VGA port
