The ThinkPad G41 supports the following two video chips depending on the model:

Display Adapter name in Device Manager
NVIDIA GeForce FX Go5200
NVIDIA GeForce FX Go5200
Intel 82852 GME
Intel(R) 82852/82855 GM/GME Graphics Controller
Each video chip or display adapter requires the corresponding display driver.
If the proper display driver is already installed, verify the display adapter name in Device Manager by the following process::
Start Windows 2000/XP.
Depending on your operating system, follow the appropriate step:
Windows 2000: Click Start, select Settings then select Control Panel. Double-click the System icon.
Windows XP: Click Start then select Control Panel. Select PerformanceandMaintenance then click the System icon. Note: In case of the Classic View option is selected, double-click the System icon.
Click the Hardware tab.
Click Device Manager.
Double-click Displayadapters.
Check which display adapter is displayed:
NVIDIA GeForce FX Go5200
Intel 82852/82855 GM/GME Graphics Controller
If your ThinkPad G41 system does not already have a display driver installed, you will not be able to check the display adapter name in Device Manager. A display driver package is provided for the ThinkPad G41. The Installer in the display driver package automatically detects the ThinkPad Hardware configuration and installs the necessary display drivers at the same time. After the display driver has been installed, reference the steps outlined above to determine the video hardware of your G41.
