This package installs an updated Microsoft Windows 2000, and XP device driver for the data fax modem that comes preinstalled in your computer. This update requires approximately 6MB of space on your drive.

This package is intended for NetVista and ThinkCentre systems shipped with an IBM V.90 Data/Fax Soft Modem. This driver includes V.92 support.

Downloading the update

Click the file link to download the file from the Web page.
When prompted, select a drive and directory in which to save the downloaded file.

Extracting the update

Click Start, select Find or Search, then click Files and folders.
Type 961z15usa.exe in the search field, then click Find Now. This will locate the file you just downloaded.
Double-click the 961z15usa.exe icon.
Click Next. Read the license agreement.
Click I accept the terms in the license agreement.
Click Next. Ensure that "Save files in folder" is set to C:\IBMTOOLS\DRIVERS\961Z15US.
Click Next.
Click Finish.

Installing the update

Click Start, click Run.
Type C:\IBMTOOLS\DRIVERS\961Z15US\Win2KXP\HXFSetup.exe.
Click Ok.
Follow the onscreen prompts to complete the installation. Shutdown and restart your system when the installation is complete.
