Configuring Bluetooth under Linux - ThinkPad T30, T40, T40p, A30p, A31p, X23, X24, X30, X31, R40
Symptom
Bluetooth does not work natively under Linux.
Affected configuration
The following ThinkPad systems running Linux, 2.4 or newer kernel, may experience this symptom:
ThinkPad A30p, A31p
ThinkPad R40
ThinkPad T30
ThinkPad T40, T40p
ThinkPad X23, X24, X30, X31
Solution
Some versions of Linux do not have full Bluetooth support built into the kernel. You can either upgrade to a recent version of Linux, such as Red Hat Linux 9.0, or you can download and install the driver yourself. The driver is provided by an open source project, at the following Web site:
