Installation of audio drivers for DOS and Windows 3.1x - ThinkPad 380, 385, 560X, 770
Installation Instructions for DOS 1. Start DOS. 2. Insert the Audio Features Diskette for DOS/Windows 3.1 into the diskette drive. 3. Type A:\ and press Enter. 4. Type Install and press Enter. 5. After it is complete, you will need to restart the computer for the changes to take affect.
Installation Instructions for Windows 1. Start Windows 3.1. 2. Select File on the Program Manager window. 3. Select Run... from the pull-down menu. 4. Insert the Audio Features Diskette for DOS/Windows 3.1 into the diskette drive. Then type A:\SETUP and press Enter. 5. It will prompt you if you want to continue the installation. Click on Yes. 6. It asks where you want to install the drivers. You may accept the default by clicking on Next. 7. After it has finished the installation, it will inform you that it is necessary to exit Windows and reboot the computer. Click on Yes to have the program do this for you automatically, or click on No if you want to reboot the computer at a later time.
The MIDI serial port connector is available when the computer is attached to the Enhanced Port Replicator. The MIDI port capability is disabled as a default, so you need to enable the function with the ThinkPad Features program. You need to install the MPU401 Support Software from the Windows 3.1 Diskette. Select and install the Roland MPU401 device driver in the Control Panel.
