How do I locate Machine Type and Model information on my particular monitor or terminal? - Monitors
Note: The Machine Type (M/T), e.g. 6544-403, and Serial Number (S/N), e.g. 2323736, can be found on a tag in one of the following locations near the bezel on your monitor:
left side - Below the bezel, on the same eye level as the control panel. For CRT monitors only.
left side - Directly on the bottom left corner of the bezel. For Flat Panel monitors only.
recessed bezel - On the front, directly below the bezel.
Types of monitors that can be found under this product family, and how they are identified
C Series (C50/C70/etc.)
Monitors that have the IBM logo on the bottom left of the bezel as well as the letter C followed by 2 or 3 numbers, e.g. C50 or C70 on the bottom right of the bezel.
Flat panel
These monitors are easily distinguished by their flat design.
G Series (G40/G50/etc.)
Monitors that have the IBM logo on the bottom left of the bezel as well as the letter G followed by 2 or 3 numbers, e.g. G40 or G50 on the bottom right of the bezel.
P Series (P50/P70/etc.)
Monitors that have the IBM logo on the bottom left of the bezel as well as the letter P followed by 2 or 3 numbers, e.g. P50 or P260 on the bottom right of the bezel.
Terminals
Various markings on the bezel including InfoWindow, InfoWindow II, ASCII Display. Terminals are easily identified in that there is normally a keyboard directly connected to it.
