For access, remove these FRUs in order:

• Battery pack FRU.
• Hard disk drive (HDD) cover, HDD and HDD rubber rails or solid state drive (SSD) and storage converter FRU.
• Palm rest or palm rest with fingerprint reader FRU.
• Keyboard FRU.
• Keyboard bezel and speaker assembly FRU.
• Wireless USB adapter or Intel Turbo Memory Minicard FRU
• PCI Express Mini Card for wireless LAN/WiMAX FRU
• LCD unit FRU.
• LCD front bezel (LCD cover kit) FRU.
• Inverter card FRU.
• Integrated camera FRU.
• Bluetooth daughter card (BDC-2.1) for Thinkpad W700, W700ds FRU.
• LCD panel, hinges, and LCD cable FRU.

Note: The red cable is the wireless WAN antenna cable (MAIN). The blank cover of the wireless WAN does not have this cable.

When installing: As you route the cables, make sure that they are not subjected to any tension. Tension could cause the cables to be damaged by the cable guides, or a wire to be broken. When attaching the antenna cable, route the cable as shown in this figure:

Note: Some models do not have the Wireless USB antenna [a].

• For models with a damaged wireless USB antenna installed, remove the damage antenna and should NOT replace it.
• For models with a non-damaged wireless USB antenna installed, leave it installed in the computer.
