For access, remove these FRUs in order:

• Battery pack FRU.
• Hard disk drive (HDD) cover, HDD and HDD rubber rails or solid state drive (SSD) and storage converter FRU.
• Palm rest or palm rest with fingerprint reader FRU.
• Bluetooth daughter card (BDC-2.1) for W701 and W701ds FRU.
• Keyboard FRU.
• Keyboard bezel and speaker assembly FRU.
• Wireless USB adapter or Intel Turbo Memory Minicard FRU.
• PCI Express Mini Card for wireless LAN/WiMAX FRU.

For ThinkPad W700 and W700ds:

Please perform the following steps as shown in the pictures below.

Step [6a] is only for ThinkPad W700ds.

When installing: When installing: In ThinkPad W700ds, make sure that the cable connector [6a] is attached firmly.

When installing:

1. Route the antenna cables along the cable guides and secure them with the tapes. As you route the cables, make sure that they are not subjected to any tension. Tension could cause the cables to be damaged by the cable guides, or a wire to be broken.
2. Make sure that the LCD connector is attached firmly.

For ThinkPad W701 and W701ds:

When installing:

• Make sure that the cable connector [8] is attached firmly.
• In ThinkPad W701ds, make sure that the cable connector [9a] is attached firmly.

When installing:

1. Route the antenna cables along the cable guides and secure them with the tapes. As you route the cables, make sure that they are not subjected to any tension. Tension could cause the cables to be damaged by the cable guides, or a wire to be broken.
2. Make sure that the LCD connector is attached firmly.
