For access, remove these FRUs in order:

• Battery pack FRU.
• Hard disk drive (HDD) cover, HDD and HDD rubber rails or solid state drive (SSD) and storage converter FRU.
• Palm rest or palm rest with fingerprint reader FRU.
• Keyboard FRU.

Please perform the following steps as shown in the pictures below.

Slide the keypad a little in the direction shown by arrow [3].

When installing: Make sure that the keypad edges [1] are under the frame as shown in this figure.

Note: For ThinkPad W701 and W701ds, make sure that the cable [3] is under the frame as shown in this figure.
