Bluetooth Daughter Card (BDC) removal and installation - 3000 C200

If your computer is one of the Lenovo 3000 C Series, you can replace the Bluetooth Daughter Card with a new one. The card is installed in the Bluetooth Daughter Card slot, under the cover of the hard drive.

Attention:

  • During electrical storms, do not connect the cable to or disconnect it from the telephone outlet on the wall.
  • Electric current from power, telephone, and communication cables is hazardous. To avoid shock hazard, disconnect the cables before opening the cover of this slot.
  • Before you start installing a Bluetooth Daughter Card (BDC), touch a metal table or a grounded metal object. This action reduces any static electricity from your body. The static electricity could damage the card.

To replace the Bluetooth Daughter Card (BDC):

  1. Turn off the system; then disconnect the ac adapter and all cables from the system. Wait for a few minutes until the inside of the system cools, before you start the following procedures.
  2. Close the system display, and turn the system over.
  3. Remove the battery.
  4. Remove the screws (1) on the cover of the hard disk drive, and then remove the cover (2).

  5. Remove the screw (3) securing the card.

  6. Remove the card from the slot (4).

  7. Turn the card over (5), and then disconnect the cable (6) from the card.

  8. Connect the cable to the new card (1), and then turn the card over (2).

  9. Insert the new card into the slot (3), and then tighten the screw (4).

  10. Reinstall the cover of the hard drive (5), and then tighten the screws (6).

  11. Reinstall the battery.
  12. Turn the system over again. Connect the ac adapter and cables to the system; and then turn it on.
