CD and DVD drive installation movie

To remove the Optical drive:

1. Remove the battery pack:
   1. Turn the computer off.
   2. Disconnect the AC adapter and all cables from the computer.
   3. Close the computer display and turn the computer over.
   4. Slide battery pack locking lever 1 to the unlocked position, then press and hold battery release lever 2.
   5. Grasp the battery pack and pull it out of the system.
      Here's a closer look at locking lever 1 and release lever 2.
2. Remove the optical drive:
   1. Remove the single screw securing the optical drive.
   2. Using a flat blade probe or screwdriver, pry the drive out of the connector.
   3. Grasp the drive and slide it out of the bay.

Note: On 14.1 inch models, the screw securing the drive will be located under the memory access cover.
