PCI Express Mini Card installation movie

To remove the PCI Express Mini Card, the battery pack, palm rest, and keyboard must be removed before removing the PCI Express Mini Card.:

  1. First, remove the battery pack as follows:
    1. Turn the computer off.
    2. Disconnect the AC adapter and all cables from the computer.
    3. Close the computer display and turn the computer over.
    4. Hold the latch in the unlocked position.
    5. Grasp the battery pack and pull it from the rear of the machine.
  2. Next, remove the Palm Rest as follows:
    1. Remove the four screws from the underside of the machine.
    2. Turn the machine over.
    3. Lift the rear edge of the palm rest, then rotate it up and toward the front to clear the tabs along the front edge of the system base.
    4. Carefully lift it high enough to disconnect the TouchPad connector.
  3. Next, remove the keyboard as follows:
    1. Remove the single screw from the underside of the system.
    2. Turn the system over and lift the keyboard starting at the bottom edge then lift it up high enough to disconnect the keyboard cable.
    3. Lift the keyboard out of the machine.
  4. Then remove the PCI Express Mini Card as follows:
    1. Disconnect the main and auxiliary antenna cables.
    2. Remove the two screws.
    3. Rotate the card up and lift it out of the system.
    4. Place the card on an ESD-protected surface.
