If your computer has a 14 inch wide display, replace a pre-installed CD/DVD drive by doing as follows:

1. Turn off the computer; then disconnect the AC adapter and all cables from the computer.
   Note: Wait for a few minutes, until the inside of the computer cools, before you start the following procedures.
2. Close the computer display, and turn the computer over.
3. Remove the battery.
4. Loosen the screw [1] on the cover of the memory slot, and remove the cover [2].
   
   
5. Loosen the screw [3], and remove the CD/DVD drive [4].
   
   

To install a repaired CD/DVD drive or a new one, do as follows:

1. Slide the drive into the bay [1], and press it firmly to the connector. Then tighten the screw [2].
   
   
2. Replace the cover of the memory slot by aligning the front side of the cover first [3], and closing the cover [4]. Then tighten the screw [5].
   
   
3. Put the battery in place.
4. Turn the computer over again. Connect the AC adapter and cables to the computer; then turn the computer on.
   

If your computer has a 15 inch wide display, replace a pre-installed CD/DVD drive by doing as follows:

1. Turn off the computer; then disconnect the AC adapter and all cables from the computer.
   Note: Wait for a few minutes, until the inside of the computer cools, before you start the following procedures.
2. Close the computer display, and turn the computer over.
3. Remove the battery.
4. Loosen the screw [1], and remove the CD/DVD drive [2].
   

To install a repaired CD/DVD drive or a new one, do as follows:

1. Slide the drive into the bay [1], and press it firmly to the connector. Then tighten the screw [2].
   
   
2. Put the battery in place.
3. Turn the computer over again. Connect the AC adapter and cables to the computer; then turn the computer on.
