For ThinkCentre A52 (type 8155, 8156, 8157, 8158, 8159, 8160) and M52 (type 8099, 8116, 8215, 9210, 9211) systems:

For ThinkCentre A52 (type 8289, 8298, 8328, 8341, 8344, 8382) systems:

1. Open the computer cover. See "Cover removal and installation".
2. Rotate the drive bay assembly upward to gain access to the fan assembly (1).

3. Disconnect fan assembly cable from the system board.
   • For ThinkCentre A52 (type 8155, 8156, 8157, 8158, 8159, 8160) and M52 (type 8099, 8116, 8215, 9210, 9211) systems, see "System board diagram".
   • For ThinkCentre A52 (type 8289, 8298, 8328, 8341, 8344, 8382) systems, see "System board diagram".
     
     

   Note: Make sure you note the location of the fan cable when you disconnect it from the system board.
   

4. Remove the front bezel by releasing the tab as shown.

5. Remove the plastic insert behind the bezel by releasing the tabs as shown.

6. Release the tabs as shown holding the fan assembly.

7. Remove the fan assembly.

8. Install the new fan assembly and connect the fan cable to the system board.
9. Reinstall the plastic insert.
10. Reinstall the front bezel.
11. Go to "Completing the parts replacement".
