Your computer has either one or two PCI Express Mini Card slots. For models with a wireless WAN feature, the right slot holds a non-user-replaceable wireless WAN card secured with screws, while the left slot holds a user-replaceable wireless LAN card. For models without a wireless WAN feature, the single PCI Express Mini Card slot holds a user-replaceable wireless LAN card. To replace the wireless LAN card, follow the procedure below.

During electrical storms, do not connect the cable to or disconnect it from the telephone outlet on the wall.

Electric current from power, telephone, and communication cables is hazardous. To avoid shock hazard, disconnect the cables before opening the cover of this slot.

  • Use the PCI Express Mini Card provided by Lenovo.
  • If your computer is a wireless upgradeable model, you can install a wireless PCI Express Mini Card, available as an option.
  • Before you start installing a module, touch a metal table or a grounded metal object. This action reduces any static electricity from your body. The static electricity could damage the PCI Express Mini Card.
