Memory installation movie

To remove the DIMM:

1. Remove the battery pack:
   1. Turn the computer off.
   2. Disconnect the AC adapter and all cables from the computer.
   3. Close the computer display and turn the computer over.
   4. Slide and hold the battery latch in the unlock position.
   5. Grasp the battery pack and pull it out of the system.

2. Remove the palm rest:
   1. Remove the four screws from the bottom of the ThinkPad.
   2. Turn the system over.
   3. Open the display cover.
   4. Release the two latches on the outer edges of the palm rest first, then pull up on the center to release the remaining two latches.
   5. Disconnect the finger print reader and UltraNav pad cable.
   6. Place the palm rest aside.
3. Remove the DIMM.
   1. Release the locking latches.
   2. Pull the DIMM from the system.
   3. Place it on an ESD protected surface.

Use the same procedure to remove the optional DIMM if required.
