Power supply installation movie

To remove the power supply:

  1. Place the system in the service position.
  2. Turn off the system and all attached peripheral devices.
  3. Disconnect all power cords and all external signal cables. For easier access to components, place the system on its side. This is the recommended service position.
  4. Remove the side cover. Press the cover-release button on the right side cover, slide the cover to the rear and lift it off.
  5. Remove drive cage. Remove the power cables from the drives.
  6. Remove the SATA signal cable from the disk.
  7. Remove the signal cable from the diskette.
  8. Remove the thumbscrew to release the cage from the chassis. Slide the assembly to the rear and out of the system.
  9. Remove power supply: Disconnect the following power cables: P2 - system board; P1 - system board; and P9 - CD-ROM.
  10. Remove the four screws that secure the power supply to the rear chassis.
  11. Press down on the latching tab. Slide the power supply to the front of the system. Lift it out of the chassis using caution not to damage the cables.
