Located on the front of the ThinkPad system is a single cover latch.
Located on the right side of the ThinkPad system are:

• CD-ROM Drive
• PC Card slot

Located on the back of the ThinkPad system are these ports:

• Power
• Modem
• Ethernet
• Dual USB 2.0
• Mouse
• Parallel
• Video

On the right side of the back of the ThinkPad system are:

• A fan grill
• The security keyhole

Located on the left side of the ThinkPad system are:

• A fan Grill
• Diskette Drive
• Dual USB 2.0 ports
• Headphone jack
• Microphone jack

Located on the top of the ThinkPad system are these status indicators:

• Battery
• Standby

With the cover open you can see:

• The display
• Speaker grill

These status indicators:

• Wireless status
• Num lock
• Caps lock
• Drive in-use
• Power on
• Battery status
• Standby status

These buttons across the top of the keyboard bezel:

• Access IBM
• Volume-down
• Volume-up
• Mute
• Power switch
  Note: The F5 function key which is used to toggle the wireless features on and off.

The TrackPoint pointing stick with TrackPoint buttons. Three different styles of TrackPoint covers will be shipped with each machine.

Located on the bottom are:

• The battery pack
• The battery latch
• The memory access cover
• The hard drive locking screw
