ThinkPad 72W AC/DC Combo adapter not compatible with ThinkPad Mini-Docking Station

Symptom

ThinkPad 72W AC/DC Combo Adapter cannot be physically forced and used to operate the ThinkPad Mini Docking Station. If the 72W Combo Adapter is connected between the ThinkPad Mini Dock and a power source, an internal fuse within the 72W AC/DC Combo Adapter is blown. The Mini Dock is unaffected.

The following Lenovo ThinkPad accessories:

ThinkPad Mini-Dock (Machine Type: 2878, Model: All)
ThinkPad 72W AC/DC Combo adapter (Part Number 22P9010)

Solution

The ThinkPad 120W AC Adapter is the only approved power source for the Mini Docking Station.
