At a glance The 288Mbit PC800 RDRAM RIMM Memory Upgrades have the following features. - Fast access time, synchronous to the Rambus channel's clock
- 184-pin RIMM with gold-plated leads
- Test proven 100% compatibility on systems shown in the hardware requirements
The new 288Mbit PC800 Rambus DRAM (RDRAM) RIMM memory upgrades offer improved performance capability on selected models of NetVista A60, NetVista A60i, IntelliStation E Pro, M Pro and Z Pro systems. The Rambus function enables faster performance than either fast page mode (FPM), hyper-page mode (EDO), or the more recent Synchronous DRAM (SDRAM) mode memory. This offering lets you upgrade standard system memory and take advantage of the latest operating systems and applications. Adding additional memory is a cost-effective way to help optimize your system's performance. To optimize the performance of the Rambus technology, there is a limitation of 32 devices on a particular channel. Products state the number of devices in each RIMM with a number followed by the character "D". The Rambus signal channel is a high-quality terminated transmission line as contrasted with memory buses used in previous technologies. Memory sockets that are not occupied with RIMMs must be populated with 'jumper' cards for the signals in the channel to be properly terminated. The 288Mbit PC800 RDRAM RIMM memory upgrades meet stringent reliability standards for memory products. Warranty

|---|
| NetVista A60 | 6833**, 6838 | All, in pairs | | NetVista A60i | 6832**, 6848 | All, in pairs | | IntelliStation E Pro | 6867 | All | | IntelliStation M Pro | 6849, 6850, 6868**** | All, in pairs | | IntelliStation Z Pro | 6866*** | All, in pairs |
NOTE: ** 1.5GB Maximum. *** The amount of system memory available with 4GB installed will depend on what adapters are installed in the system. The 840 chipset supports up to 4GB of memory, however, the X86 architecture has various memory mapped I/O and non-system memory required by PCI adapters at the high end of this address range. This will truncate the system memory by the amount of memory required by system flash and PCI adapters installed. **** 64MB not supported in M Pro 6868. Hardware requirements for other systems The 288Mbit PC800 RDRAM RIMM Memory Upgrades are supported on other systems that support industry standard RAMBUS to the PC800 specification. Compatibility Some configurations may not be compatible. Limitations - Indicated systems must be upgraded with pairs (two at a time, same speed, capacity and technology) of RIMMs.
- System board memory sockets must be populated with jumper boards, if a RIMM is not present, in order for the signals on the memory channel to be properly terminated.
NOTE: Rambus memory upgrade product names contain a number followed by "D". The number represents the number of RDRAM devices used to construct that particular RIMM. If a total of 32 devices is exceeded (more likely on systems with 3 RIMM sockets), the memory upgrade may not operate or may produce unpredictable results. Installation time Approximately 5 minutes (30 minutes if BIOS needs to be updated) |
