General information
The new 16Xmax(1) DVD-ROM White and Black Option Kits offer you the industry's latest high-performance DVD-ROM drives. The white drive functions in selected NetVista, PC300, and Aptiva systems and the black drive functions in selected NetVista, Aptiva, and IntelliStation systems.

The 16Xmax DVD-ROM reads DVD media with capacities up to 17GB, at a maximum 16X CAV read speed. This provides fast data loading and video playback. These drives are ideal for education and database applications and well-suited for the large data requirements of graphics, imaging, and multiple CD consolidation. The drives also read all popular CD media formats at speeds up to 40X CAV(1). Decoding software for MPEG2 is also included. 

(1) Variable read rate. Actual playback speed will vary and is often less than the maximum possible.
