This document contains instructions for removing and installing the hard disk drive on your A20 or A21 ThinkPad computer.

Removing the hard disk drive

Remove battery pack
Remove the coin screw by rotating it counter clockwise as indicated by 1 in the illustration below.
Pull the head of connector of the hard disk drive to remove the drive as indicated by 2 in the illustration below.

Coin screw (1) or security screw (1)
NOTE: Use a 2.5-mm Allen wrench to remove the security screw.
Remove hard disk drive from connector.

Installing the hard disk drive

Insert the new hard disk drive into the bay. Make sure you connect the drive firmly.
Reinstall the screw.
Turn the computer right-side up, and power it on.
