The IEEE 1394 CardBus Card provides ThinkPad customers with an easy way to connect to high-speed storage devices and digital video cameras at home and in the office. The CardBus Card lets you add IEEE 1394-enabled peripherals to any CardBus-equipped notebook computer. Just insert the IEEE 1394 CardBus Card into a Type II or Type III CardBus slot and your notebook is ready to utilize the performance and speed of IEEE 1394 devices such as Digital Video, IEEE 1394 hard drives, DVD players, and more.
The IEEE 1394 CardBus Card features:

  • 1394 data transfer rate up to 400 Mbps
  • Automatic configuration; no IDs or terminators necessary
  • Hot-plugability
  • Dual Port (two 6-pin ports; does not block other PCMCIA slot)
  • Type II CardBus Adapter
  • True Plug and Play
  • 6-pin to 4-pin and 6-pin to 6-pin FireWire cable
  • Video editing software for digital video capture and editing
