Processor and fansink removal and installation

Attention:
Processors are sensitive to static discharge.

  1. Disconnect the fansink cable from the system board.
  2. Grasp the tabs of the fansink stopper and squeeze before pulling it upward.

  3. Press the fansink clasp to release the lock on both sides.
  4. Remove the fansink by pressing the release tab (rectangular end) and lifting it up from the Processor.
  5. Pull up the ZIF socket release lever.
  6. Lift the processor out of the socket.

  7. Place the ZIF socket release lever to the release (up) position.
  8. Insert the new processor, matching the notched corner of the processor with the pin 1 indicator on the socket.

  9. Push down the lever to lock the processor to the socket.
  10. Place the processor heat sink fan over the processor.
  11. Insert one side of fan brace onto the ZIF socket.
  12. Secure by latching the other side to the ZIF socket.
  13. Reconnect the processor fan sink cable to the connector FN1 on the system board.

  14. Replace the fansink stopper.
